The Shins – Those To Come Lyrics 14 years ago
Just a thought in regard to these lines: "Only to die, Dissolve magically." To me, they seem to be the climax of both the song as well as the speaker of the song. In French there is an idiom "le petite mort" (the little death), which is a metaphor for orgasming/the feeling of elation/transcendence following orgasm. Maybe it's a stretch, but at that particular moment, one might feel as though they were "dissolving magically."

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Satan Said Dance Lyrics 16 years ago
The "red right hand" probably is in reference to Paradise Lost by John Milton...apparently it refers to divine wrath. See this page for more details: http://arcana.wikidot.com/red-right-hand

I can't really find any symbolism/meaning for alligators kissing though..the closest answer seemed to be on yahoo answers in reference to a hickey haha.

Animal Collective – Leaf House Lyrics 16 years ago
I'm pretty certain this song has to be referencing the book House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. While I haven't read the entire book, I know that the book starts off referring to a man's death. There were a lot of stray cats that lived out in the yard and only reacted to the old man that died. I've only read the first few pages, but there's an obvious connection between the title of the book and song and the fact that there's now "no one to say meow, kitties."
