When I first heard the song I thought had a good beat and I kept replying it. Then I caught what he was actually saying and I was really kinda shocked because its such an upbeat happy song, but lyrics are rather brutal.
One thought that I had was that the song is very repetitive, especially that line about running from bullets. To me its makes me think of a lot of people like a crowd trying to get away from this shooter, but he keeps firing. |

I agree The song has a great beat and is fun to listen and dance too but it misses the meaning and soul of the original. For the original lyrics go to this link: http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/115557/
The first time I heard this version of the song was on a commercial by HTC for one of their new phones and I instantly recognized that distinctive piano rhythm |

The lyrics sound like the story of Samson and Delilah, but that part "The Bible doesn't mention us" would not make sense if it is because the bible does mention the story of Samson and Delilah. And what is she talking about when she says "He ate a slice of wonderbread"
Then again it is a beautiful song and maybe it is best to just listen to it and leave it a mystery.
"Analyzing humor is like dissecting a frog. Few people are interested, and the frog dies of it."

I would say the same can be said for music also. |

Sure he is singing about imagining life without all these things and how peaceful it would be, but then think about out. What kind of life would we be living without those things. I mean countries, religion, war, possesions, greed, hunger thats what makes us who we are, human beings. It seperates us from being... animals. |

I am not really sure what it is about this song but it is very uplifting. For example today I was working on my highschool algebra homework (not fun). While doing my homework I was listening to music on the radio and this song was played. once the song started I had this feeling of joy and happiness. Felt almost like getting up and dancing. I guess it is the strong rythmic beat to the song and catchy music that makes me feel this way. |

To me the song is about a person who wants to leave this world behind a look for something newer, better, and more exciting. When given the chance to go he took it imediatly without thinking, but then "when they cut me open" he started rethinking whether or not it was such a good idea to leave. The longer he is away from his home world the more he begins to miss it and realizes how great it was. Once he comes back home he made "everybody look down" so they wouldn't notice he was gone, but now "Nile runs east to west" meaning that alot had changed while he was gone. Now he is dissappointed that he left and missed everything that had happend while he was gone and his desicions are haunting him. |

This is the kind of song that makes me feel good and want to go have fun. When your life gets boring and could use some excitement just go out and do what ever, have some fun. Whether its going out and driving fast down the interstate or whatever... just keep living and don't waste your life. "When your chips are down, and your highs are lows... Joyride" |

What you fail to understand is that the 9/11 attacks was the first time that an enemy had landed on American soil and attacked us. America had never faced such an invasion before. Thousands of people died and the attackers almost killed our president. The terrorist had planned an ausult that would affect every aspect of America. The World Trade Center (the economy), The Pentagon (the military), The White House (the government). Whether you think it is a big deal or not, the events that took place on September 11th 2001 made history and I will never forget that day. |
