This song hits really close to home with me. Also, a bit of the lyrics are wrong. It's supposed to be: Oh but my man you're someone elses man And that aint the man that I would want But you keep drawing me in with those big brown lying eyes You'll always be mine In the back of my mind Oh we had a night Just a little while.. Anyway, this song is about meeting someone really special, and you both feel that connection and have this amazing chemistry. Everything is just right between you two. But he has a girlfriend who's kind of a fixture in his life, and he can't -or won't- leave her. The girl knows this, but there's no bitterness or resentment there, there's too much love. But not enough that the girl would disrespect herself and cling desperately to a taken man (even though she does a little bit still, in her mind), so she remembers the nights they've had and their friendship. However, she still feels pain at the thought of him "getting away". |
