As I Lay Dying – Condemned Lyrics 15 years ago
Also, I find the line: "Why do we uphold allegiance higher than maintaining life?" to be very interesting. It almost seems like they're urging some sort of action against countries that support abortion, specifically the USA.

IMO this song seems to be speaking out against abortion.

I own the hard copy of the CD, and in the album notes it is definitely "wonders" not wanderers. Personally I think wanders fits in better with vagabonds, but the liner notes don't lie. Great song tho!

I think of Psalm 3:6 where it says "I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around."

Oh, Sleeper – REVERIES OF FLIGHT Lyrics 16 years ago
Exactly. To further back this up the person is losing their faith in God because He's denying them what they want. "To join I would need wings that heaven has denied me." At the end God says that if we completely trust Him he will give us everything we ever needed.

Amen Sythrim. Every time I listen to this song I am brought to the verge of tears. Truly we serve a gracious heavenly Father. We deserve eternal damnation yet He saves us by sending His Son to die on the cross for our sins. Praise the Lord!

Micah really captures the emotion of this song beautifully with his screams as well.

August Burns Red – Mariana's Trench Lyrics 16 years ago
First of all, this song is amazing. Definitely my fave off of Constellations.

I think that this song is about embracing the world and how that is killing us. We embraced the things of this world that we thought could save us, but instead it is killing us. The armor is weighing us down and causing us to drown and the sword is lodged in our throats. Then the meaning is explained with the lyrics: "We have become what we have feared.Being one with this world." These are just my thoughts.

Yes they said in an interview I saw on Youtube that they drink.

I think this song is a rant against legalistic Christianity that tries to dictate what's right and wrong about your actions and fails to look at a person's heart. The Pharisees in the Bible were legalists and Jesus referred to them as whitewashed tombs. Pretty on the outside, but decaying on the inside.

Also, I think the line "It breaks your heart to see me consume" is referring to those who condemn the band because they drink. Just a few thoughts. :) Awesome song tho!
