| Papercut Massacre – Lose My Life Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song is incredible. It took me quite a few listens to really start picking up on the lyrics, but it's definitely about the war and obviously. I just don't understand what "I'll live forever if I lose my life tonight" means? I'm thinking it could mean as in he'll live forever as in be a hero even when he's gone? Regardless, powerful song. | |

Top the tank* and fill the cooler. Amazing song. I agree, starcrossdlove, it feels like it belongs on Dusk and Summer to me. I can just picture late nights at the beach and a big group of close friends. Now just memories. |

| Dashboard Confessional – Belle of the Boulevard Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Down in a local bar, out on the boulevard the sound of an old guitar is saving you from sinking She moved away to a new place but still finds comfort in the sounds of an ’old guitar’ because it’s his memories that save her and the guitar reminds her of him. its a long way down, its a long way back like you never broke Being heartbroken is a long painful journey that she hides from, ‘back like you never broke.’ When really, she is miserable trying to move on by pretending. you tell a dirty joke he touches your leg and thinks he's getting closer for now you let him, just this once, just for now and just like that, its over She leads so many guys on, makes them fall for everything they see perfect in her. She let’s things get too far then ends it because she is afraid of her past… breaking hearts because hers was so badly broken and is not allowing it to heal. don't turn away dry your eyes, dry your eyes don't be afraid but keep it all inside, all inside we fall apart dry you eyes, dry your eyes life is always hard for the belle of the boulevard He isn’t like other guys, he wants to save her. He won’t take no for an answer and will go to any length to prove it. ‘Life is always hard for the belle of the boulevard’ is somewhat sarcastic. He basically says that everything is perfect for her, and she isn’t seeing it (him) right in front of her. and all you silver rings and all your silk and things that song that you softly sing is keeping you from breaking its a long way down, its a long way Back here you never lost you shake your shivers off you take a drink to get your courage up can you believe it? just this once, just for now and just like that, its over She comes from a well to do family but doesn’t want to live like that. He is simple and just wants to save her from her fake conception of reality. ‘Softy sing’ - she is only herself when no one is around to see it. She is always alone because it keeps her from breaking and having to pretend she is over him and content with her life. It’s a long way down, having a broken heart is a long painful road. She has ‘never lost’ never has dilemma, because she is ‘belle of the boulevard.’ Suddenly life is tough and things aren’t so perfect, but he’ll be there to save her. |

| Parachute – When Words Meet Heartbeats Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I just saw them in concert two nights ago and he said how it's about how girls can cry and instantly win - and how unfair that is for guys pretty much. Such a cute song. | |

| I'm glad someone else noticed how similar this sounds to Maroon 5. That was my first thought when I heard this song. | |
| Jack's Mannequin – The Mixed Tape Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This is the only song in the world that I cannot listen to without crying. After a 4 year relationship with the guy who I thought was the love of my life, this song describes every moment from beginning to end. From lust, infatuation, love, heartbreak and now hate. This is morning It's when I spend the most time Thinking 'bout what I've given up This is a warning When you start the day Just to close the curtains You're thinking 'bout what I've given up *Every morning waking up to the thought of another day of dealing with this separation and change of feelings. When you realize that you really did wake up every morning because you had a reason to, the love in your life. It's now impossible to start the day and you just want to give up because your reason to rise is now gone. Where are you now? As I'm swimming through this stereo I'm writing you a symphony of sound Where are you now? As we rearrange these songs again This mix could burn a hole in anyone It was you I was thinking of It was you I was thinking of *Where are you now is pretty self explanatory.. where are you, you aren't in my life anymore and I just wonder all the time. A symphony of sound to me doesn't sound like any beautiful ensemble. It's just sound. There are so many mixed feelings of being broken, angry and depressed. I read your letter The one you left when you broke into my house Retracing every step you made And you said you meant it And there's a piece of me in every single Second of every single day But if it's true then tell me how it got this way This verse shows how torn his feelings are in return.. how he goes from feelings of sadness without her to anger because the break up wasn't clean and he hates her for what she has done to him. He goes back and forth throughout the entire song, missing and then hating her again. He doesn't know how to feel about her. The love was so strong and promising and then one day everything went wrong. Love to hate. But he knows he still loves her because 'it was you I was thinking of' just sums it up. No matter what he is feeling (sad or angry towards and about her) he misses her and cares. He is always thinking about her. I'm sure that didn't make much sense to anyone else... but I guess that's what music is all about. |
