This is Greg Graffin at his best. He's pretty much saying that every bastion of peace and prosperity will eventually fade or be replaced. He's being optimistic and cynical at the same time. Another BR favorite of mine, lyrically, is Better Off Dead. What are some of your faves? |

I love you idiots that think every song is about suicide, drugs or a breakup. It's pretty obvious to me that it's simply about his disdain for pop culture and the herd-like mentality its followers adopt. The first verse is some great lyrics btw. |

If ever there were lyrics that painted a picture, it's in this song. It's about replacing something missing in your life with your work, although your work happens to be spilling your guts to an audience of fans, drinking your ass off, getting no sleep, excessive traveling and doing it all over again the next day. Great song. |

No comments? Come on. Love this line: "I've written on promises and dreams a thousand times
still relegated to these lines." I think he's saying that after all the years of being a voice of reason through his music, his ideas and principles are still and will always be viewed as drivel to the masses. |

Funny how the only band that's keeping "true" country alive is a punk/rockabilly band. When you start seeing rednecks pumping hip-hop in their trucks, you know it's time to go back to the roots. In response to Acerbic's thoughts–it's true you can actually feel the desperation build throughout this song. Awesome! |

Someone add "Nervous" to their list... I'm too lazy. Great song. G'nW is just a faster Snuff with less production btw. |

This is an awesome inspirational song for people who hate "I Believe I Can Fly" and songs sung by artists that pee on underage girls. |

Please comment! This song is too good not to.
Could be about a couple where one is an addict and one is clean. |

Sometimes the songs with the fewest lyrics are the most profound. Could listen to this over and over. |

If you put the entire "Two Conversations" album together it goes through a series of stories and events involving a relationship of two people. This song is meant to be peaceful, however, he's only rationalizing the situation. The subsequent song on the album is not as happy, which leads me to believe that this event turned from peace into guilt, regret, self-loathing and envy about his relationship with the other person.
Just for comparison, "Two Conversations" is to emo what the "The Wall" was to the rock and roll story album. And just like the main character Pink in The Wall–the story does not end–or is meant to end happy. |
