He's saying his self-worth is not based on what other people think of him (there is no fuckin' you, there's only me). And that any concept of what other people are thinking, are imaginary to him (I just made you up to hurt myself). And his realization of this is strange, something that he shouldn't know (Now I'm somewhere,I am not supposed to be, And I can see things I know, I really shouldn't see). Thus, "Less concerned About fitting into the world Your world, that is 'cause it doesn't really matter Any more No, it doesn't really matter Any more None of this really matters Any more" |

| Project 86 – Lucretia, My Reflection Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This is actually a cover of a Sisters of Mercy song, and from what I can tell, it's a statement of rebellion against modernism (I hear the roar of the big machine..., I hear the sons of the city and dispossessed...., We don't doubt, we don't take direction..., etc...). Not sure why Project 86 covered this particular song. | |
| Dire Straits – Once Upon A Time In The West Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"Once upon a time in the west" - philosophically speaking, the world is divided into east and west. He's not talking about the wild west (why would he be?), he's talking about America, Europe, etc... The West (as opposed to The East - Asia, etc..). For instance, "Oh, you could even catch a bullet from the peace-keeping force". Likewise; "Tell me how we're gonna do what's best You guess, once upon a time in the west" Lamenting the failure of logic in Western thought to establish right and wrong as objective norms. Which country should we invade next? |
