To me it sounds like a couple that's been together for so long that nothing's fun anymore. It's always the same old, same old and neither of them wanted to tell the other that they felt that way about it. But in the end, when she does tell him, he doesn't blame her for feeling that way or keeping it to herself. Aaaand, they end on good terms, when he says "your coffin or mine?", like...it isn't the end for them. |

I think this song means quite the opposite of what the words are telling us...you have to listen more to the singer's tone than read into the words..it's like a person confides in someone that they believe cares about their problems..when really the other person doesn't care at all. They adore this person..and have put them on a pedestal..yet that person doesn't give a shit about them. I don't know..maybe that's just how I feel about the song.../:

I think this song tells us..not to get too attached to anything because in the end..we'll be hurt..because everything we love(or get attached to) will not necessarily turn to dust..but go away or stop..or end. whether it be a boyfriend, girlfriend, the relationship itself, or materialistic possessions, perhaps a way of life. like in.the.dark said..life is bound to change. |
