woops...accidently submitted before I was done....

dmbcwalk: I used to get annoyed with artists (musicians, actors, etc) that used their platform to speak definitively about issues they are probably not completely educated on.

But then I realized that they're entitled to their opinion as much as anyone, and they're just doing their job by putting their thoughts in to music. I'll be the first to say I've got lots to learn too about climate change, before I'd be anything close to an expert (Just like everyone posting)...

It is the responsibility of us as an Audience to be educated on how to maturely discern rhetoric or opinion from fact and research. In the end, it annoys me that Actors, musicians stick their heads in political campaigns, but it is ultimately our responsibility to realize that - regardless of what you thought of Obama, that George Clooney, DMB, or Lindsay Lohan's tweets are not a good basis for forming political opinions. I'll always be up for a polite, rhetoric conversation with people of any viewpoint as long as they have thought through and formed their opinions beyond gut feel, or staunch party rhetoric. Peace to All.

I too lean conservative, and here are some of my thoughts...

People (on both sides) sometimes forget that Conservatives and Liberals have the same end in mind - a better safer and more prosperous country/World for EVERYONE - all socioeconomic classes, and races. We just have different ideas on the best way to get there.

Dancing Nancy - The reason that some Conservatives generally tend to resist the idea of 'Global Warming/Conservation' has more to do with economic beliefs than religious beliefs. Conservatives have traditionally questioned whether the benefits of Government efforts with regard to the environment is worth the added burden on tax payers. It's not we don't love the environment as well, it's just that many believe the evidence isn't there to prove that if there is global warming - that its caused by man....and even if it is, we'd rather see improvements made in the private sector vs. by the government, as we believe over time any gov't program becomes inefficient, as it is laden with bureaucracy and lack of competition.

I believe:

That there is probably evidence that Global Warming trends exists, but there is a lack of evidence that it is caused by Man. Also we have been studying weather for less than 100 years, which is a blip on the radar screen for the earth. I think at the bare minimum arrogant to assume that we are the biggest force instituting change.

As conservatives we have the same end in mind
