| Joni Mitchell – Big Yellow Taxi Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| A song in which Joni complains that they paved Paradise to put up a parking lot. Though actually it would have elevated traffic on the outskirts of Paradise. Something in which Joni fails to point out, perhaps because it doesn't fit in with her blinkered view of the world. Nevertheless nice song. | |

Few things off. Firstly before the second chorus should be "Was my little sister's fate." Not "what's" Also - "only with your mentors i used to hold your coffee cup you taught me from the mentors" I think it's... "Only with your mentals I used to hold your coffee cup You taught me fundamentals." |

Ok so like people have said a fight between 2 young boys. But I don’t think it’s just one fight, it’s a series of fights that end up escalating and upping the ante till one of them dies. “We don't need no baseball bats We don't need no silver ghats But we're gonna fight tonight Put up your dukes and fight” Pretty self explanatory, a fist fight. But remember the first 2 lines, they’ll come into play later. “All the kids from school are keeping score You swing and you duck and you hit the floor but you gotta get up at least once more” Everyone’s keeping score so it‘s more than one fight, by hitting the floor he either got knocked out or didn’t win that fight whatever. But he has to do it again to rid of the shame of being beaten. “But why'd you bring all your friends And the whole damn school To watch my baby boy go down like a fool” The mother of the beaten boy is obviously upset in finding her son beaten and feels he’s being picked on and is outnumbered. “But mama says baby go get that bat And come back down and beat some ass” And it sounds like because of that she recommends he goes out with a bat for the next fight. “One wrong move and it'll be too late Mama won't be making no birthday cake” So I guess he did go out with the bat, possibly beat the other boy or was shot before he had a chance. It was just a fist fight, but it escalated. Judging from the first 2 lines if one boy brought a bat as retaliation, than the next thing after for the other would be a gun “silver gat”. |

| Antony and the Johnsons – Man Is the Baby Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| He is going to be the way he is regardless but still wants acceptance from the one's he holds dear, for them to "bless" and set his "spirit free". For them not to be dissapointed but to just be proud of and just take him as the human being he is. | |

The feel of this song, not just the lyrics but the music has a floating feel and atmosphere, like a high on drugs, perhaps heroin. The thing that's vanishing is this person problems (though for only the temporary). And they are disappearing as they get high, and are detached from reality and everything except the high. That's my take on it at least. |

I seem to remember Maynard talking about this song in an interview ages ago, now the fact that it hasn’t been brought up here makes me a little sceptical about if I’m recalling this right but of what I remember.. Maynard said this song was about his father (like you said FrankenKlone), but I also think the father who abused him was actually his step father. His actual father (that this song is about) Maynard had never really knew at all and had only been part of his life briefly and very erratically and also didn’t really care to know Maynard. Anyway his real father got in touch with him when he discovered Maynard was rich/famous whatever and Maynard met him and wanted to connect with this man, his flesh and blood but still his Father didn’t really care for him and was after other things like Maynard’s wealth. He came to the conclusion that he’d be better off without this man (a stranger), his father who had already caused him so much grief by not being a part of his life and who would only cause him more heartache. |

| Also I think it's "Where your voice it still reminas" not "Where your voice is still a maze" | |

Yup best song off the ep is right. They had a brother who died as an infant so with that pretty sure this song is about him. I think she's basically saying "I miss you/wish I could of had more time with you/and I'll see you on the otherside" God this song is just heatbreaking isn't it? |

| CocoRosie – Spirit Lake Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Seriously? Why didn't you just contribute to the one that was already up. Pretty pathetic dude that you just needed to be the one to post it (even though it was already up) and get the e-glory lol but whatever. | |

| Think that's pretty spot on, though let me know if you think anything needs changing. | |

Some of these lyrics seem wrong. "Something something we can be", I hear "How sweet that they can be" Also there's an "Our" just before "Hearts will teach us how to live" so should be "Our hearts..." "My fear was so free" should be "I feel so free" "Crystal light shines through mine eyes" I'm hearing "Crystal light shines down on us" but who knows hard to tell with that one. Origianl lyric may be right. "Every creature loves to be" pretty sure it's "longs" not love so "Every creature longs to be" Another that's hard to tell is the end of this "My skin glows bright in the sun breeze" is it just me who thinks it's "suns rays" though could be breeze. |
