I think this song is strongly focusing on our desire to want things, quick and easy, how our minds are rotting because of it. and how we're spreading all this desire like fire ("Turning us into fire, turning us into monsters. It's all desire.") Its all desire that's turning us into monsters, ("Easy does it, easy does it. Think of something to say no to"), the need to have and own everything. It turns us all into kids with guns. The line "Kids with guns" is just a metaphor as to what we are all becoming. We are all like "kids with guns", spreading our desire for everything like fire, polluting the minds of everyone as if we're putting loaded guns to their heads and pulling the trigger. |

The way she portrays desire as a physical being just makes the song so much more amazing. and after reading spacecadetto's comment, the song just totally comes into place. idk what else to say, the song is awesome. i muchly appreciate her amazing writing ability. |
