dammit, i did something weird on my keyboard. Anyway. The making a bet part and pitting all these animals together is like humans making a game out of ecosystems -- indirectly betting which species will survive. Every living thing Pushed into the ring Fight it out to wow the crowd Guess he thought We could just watch But no one's getting out. This is like saying that even humans are forced into their own environmental ring, fighting every living thing for survival. The only way out is to have love for the whole stadium, aka mother earth and all living things. Just my interpretation but I think it works. |

Just wanna say, this song is AMAZING live. I saw them in MPLS last june. Before they ended with this song, Emily talked about how humans were systematically destroying the natural world. I know she gave an explanation in an interview, but today this interpretation dawned on me.
