people seem to think that it was Santana who came up with this because of all the Spanish references, but it was actually Rob Thomas who wrote it. He wrote it for his wife Marisol, who's Puerto Rican. I found this song in my itunes last week and it has been playing nonstop since then! this is my favourite mb20 song, and i have a different interpretation of the song. i agree with people that it's about his life, but rather than a relationship, i think he's looking back on his life and making observations about the lessons he learned along the way, and how it made him a stronger person. i get this from the chorus "shame, shouldn't try you, couldn't step by you, and open up more shame." that makes me think that he's saying that "shame" shouldn't try and bring him down and make him feel bad because it can't. i think he's realizing "why try and fix what can't be fixed? why try and change what can't be changed?" to me he's saying you have to roll with the punches, don't let things bring you down, because nothing is perfect. its motivational, not depressing my two cents :) |

its not a different version at all...the song is called "No Such Thing" and whoever posted this messed up the lyrics hardcore, and even if these happen to be the right lyrics for a different version of the song, the name would still be "No Such Thing" |
