At one of the Prudential Center shows in 2007, one of the few times they've ever played this live, Jon said it was a hard song to even talk about, let alone play. I don't remember his exact words, but he did talk about Richie Sambora and how bad he was hurting, and said that they were getting through it together. It was incredibly sweet, and Richie went over and hugged him.
Incredible performance. They played the entire Lost Highway album that night. |

There was an interview awhile back, when this song first came out. Jon mentioned they wrote it on the set of a movie. He had the title in mind, and it was based on two real people. When he mentioned the title to Richie, he knew right away who Jon was talking about and they wrote the song right then. |

I'm a sucker for a great opening lyric, and, in my opinion that is one of the best ever written. It kind of sets the scene for the whole song and lets you know what it's about. I get chills whenever this song starts. Just amazing. |
