| Talking Heads – Psycho Killer Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Reading these comments kinda scares me, because the entire second verse ("You start a conversation you can't even finish it") sounds exactly like something I would say. In other words, I have the same thought processes as a serial killer. |

| Green Day – Last of the American Girls Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This girl is the sworn enemy of and the antidote to the American Idiot. The song shows how not everyone in America is bad, and that the spirit of rebellion, independence, and freedom is still alive in people like her. | |
| Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I'm sure someone has said this - I'm not about to read 1,800 comments - but I think the meaning of this song is that it means nothing. "There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold." Some people think everything has a hidden, deeper meaning behind it. Those people are wrong. "'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings." They deliberately made it as vague as possible so no one would be able to figure it out. "Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven." You're wasting your time trying to interpret this song. "And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reason." People believe that if they listen to the song a million times, they can finally figure it out. "And the forests will echo with laughter." Led Zeppelin thinks we're pathetic for trying to figure it out. "Your stairway lies on the whispering wind." It sounds good, but has no substance. "Our shadows taller than our soul." The shadows are the lyrics, the soul is what they truly believe. You can't truly believe in a fantasy, no matter how deep and meaningful it sounds. "And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last. When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll." The song will make sense when the universe explodes and/or when pigs fly. |

| Weezer – Buddy Holly Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The "bang bang" stuff isn't meant to be taken literally. It's just a metaphor for the persecution and discrimination that Rivers and his friend had to endure in high school. Once you've Rivers' explanation, the meaning becomes a whole lot clearer. But the mention of Buddy Holly is more confusing. He could be playing on the popular image of the 1950s as a simpler, more innocent time. Or he could be referring to the rigid conformist attitude that dominated 50s society, where a mixed-race couple or even friendship wouldn't have been socially accepted. Or it could just be that Buddy Holly looks like a nerd. Whatever, all I know is this song is awesome. It's one of the theme songs of my life, and it's also the first Weezer song I ever heard. |
