I don't really think it's about a human vampire interaction. I think it's more about a normal relationship, but there is no 'love' there. It's more just passion and sex. Like 'Warn your warmth to turn away. Here it's december every day' - is like, warn away the fluffy feelings, and the warm love for him, it's just cold, emotionless, sex. "Press your lips to the sculpture and surely you'll stay' it's like, they seem untouchable, but you kiss them and you can't get enough. 'It's in the blood, It's in the blood,' I think that instead of it being literal, it's more like, you need blood to live, and they 'taste' of blood, so their addictive, they are needed to live. etc. etc. and the story just continues describing the attraction (breathing vanilla lace) and the sexual interractions |

Yes, though I agree that Shallow Life isn't AS good as all of their other CD'S there still (as always) are good songs on their album. Like in my opinion, I find I only like Spellbound and Wide Awake from Shallow Life. While I loved every other song on every other album (except for their early early ones) |

This song is obviously about addictions (so yes I agree with you chelsea) For example Burning here, in the room Feeling that the walls are moving closer could represent withdrawl. When you are in withdrawl, you do feel like you are burning, and that you are being crushed. Spell bound, is obviously a way to say that you are in awe of it, that it is practically controling you. so in the chorus Tell me who you are. I am spellbound You cannot have this control on me Everywhere I go I am spellbound I will break the spell you put on me Could be a cry to what ever they are addicted too. Saying that such addictions are controling them, and that find that it is a horrible habit and need it to stop, so they are fighting to break the 'spell' casted over them. Also Silent whispers of words inside of my head The night that comes, it waits for me Lift me to the ending of another day I'm haunted This can represent how something 'speaks to you'. Like a gambler will be 'called' by the slot machines, or a druggy will be 'called' by the heroine. And the ending of another day part, speaks about when the act done. They fulfill the need to do whatever it is they are addicted to do at night, and that this need is haunting them, and so on and so forth |
