I really like this post, and the only thing I would add is that her reverence and friendship for Neil Gaiman stems in part at least from how he is so rooted in mythology. That seems to add to the 'storyteller' status, or some such thing. |

Nice. A lot of these clarify the song a lot in my head, and give it a little more dimension. But at the core, it's still to me a revenge song, one that owns up to its own anger and admits that vengeance can be a little satisfying |

The reference to God makes me think that the 'corporation' everyone seems to be referring to may actually be the Church |

The song feels like a young relationship that's based on an 'us vs them' attitude, together with a willfully ignored awareness that that's not really a good basis for relationship and in the end one of them will fail the other one |

while i like the context it was used in twilight, I also agree the song should not be interpreted in twilight terms, it's not a twilight song, it just happens to be in the movie. And I really like your interpretation of it, too, it works really well. I like the more straightforward satisfying slow revenge interpretation myself, just something really seductive about that kind thing to me |

thanks, that actually makes sense to me. Given that, it seems like she's also asking if she gets to be part of him or will his religious nature exclude her in the end... |
