I may be wrong, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. I think the song is about finding Jesus. The "seeker" is trying to find his place in this world. He doesn't want to follow the others in their evil ways but he still doesn't know what is good. He is following his conscience but he is still confused. He is considering everything trying to find out what's right, opening all doors. Scott asks " Are you ready for the afterlife? " The "hero" is someone who tries to live his life to a "t". But like everyone he fails. But like every Christian knows, you can't get to Heaven on works. God sees every mistake and every flaw. Our best is like filthy rags to him. Finally he realizes that he cannot get to Heaven by himself, the first step to getting saved... |
