| Chevelle – Face to the Floor Lyrics | 14 years ago |

kaw4f is correct, this song is about Bernie Madoff and people wanting to punch him. The correct lyrics are as follows: To pick up the tip doesn't mean a lot Fiddle inside your drawers If we own the night, then spread it out Or pack up without a clue Well... Caused by their own And by default Time to vamonos Like your face getting forced to the floor Then I got a taste of the benefits Five foot and change There's no better way to hash it out So let's set up your time to fail Well... Course now the cracks Should we intervene? I hold this albatross Like your face getting forced to the floor When either way, you're way too close to it all Pay up, never wait 'em out Clever Madoff, take it all Take it all Your...mouth...blessed Take it all the way...right back down Clue...less...mess Pay up, never take it all Take it all... Like your face getting forced to the floor (In a league of your own) When either way, you're way too close to it all (You cannot veto the world) Like your face (like your face) getting forced (getting forced) to the floor (In a league of your own) When either way (either way) you're way too close to it all To it all... |

| Chevelle – Shameful Metaphors Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This is an absolutely amazing song. I think it's about Pete fearing that his work has gone unappreciated and that he has failed to make an impact on the world because the thoughts that he has tried to relay through his lyrics have basically been lost in translation. I think it goes back to some of the stuff in their second album, This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In). |

| Chevelle – Sleep Apnea Lyrics | 16 years ago |

The chorus is: I gasp and hold me breath These needs have chains so deep To face you all the same I've been awake for... Also, in the second verse: Eyes scorned from sleep apnea A slight of tongue as the seas are emptied |

| Chevelle – Well Enough Alone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Pete is not screaming 'sick' at the beginning, he is screaming 'sera' as in Vena Sera, the name of the album that this song is from. I believe it is about his brother Joe that left the band. By 'leaving well enough alone,' he is saying that they have gotten past the harsh feelings that initially surrounded Joe's departure from the band. | |
