Climbing higher, through the fire? Pretty sure it isn't about Gettysburg. I think YC included Lincoln's words because they were powerful during Gettysburg, but are also fitting for 9/11. It definitely adds something special to the song, but many people don't realize where they're from. My little sister though Bush spoke those words during a memorial. |

I thought i had heard something about one of the band members being in the towers, and it makes the song make even more sense - "just to bring me down alive" (song is incorrect here, these are the correct lyrics). Very valid point, thanks for bringing that to the table. |

Thank GOD someone finally said that. It shows that someone knows a little about history, not just great music. Lincoln's words were no doubt powerful when he spoke them in Gettysburg, but the carryover and"fittingness" of his words are even more amazing when you think of how they fit in with 9/11. Thanks hesslich, for bringing intelligence to this discussion. |
