Norma Jean – A Media Friendly Turn For The Worse Lyrics 15 years ago
I don't know if I'll be able to express myself, but here we go:

I think this song is about how we are controlled by the media and other things.

- "I am a grain of sand underneath the floor and so far out of reach, but I am safe from harm."

We feel secure in our homes but we don't realize that we are "trapped" in an invisible prison.

- "Our pain is always accurate and striving to evade its only design.
It wants to strike you down to fall into its arms again."

They control our pain to keep us always under their control (arms).

"What I know was divided and broken down by the ignorance of others.
Spoken from their lips, but with the lungs of another.
Sounds great but tastes like blood.
These rumor sessions are assembled by us all."

Facts are usually distorted due to bad faith or simply ignorance of someone (distorted even by the News Media). So we don't actually know the truth. These rumors leaves us lost.

"They are the earth and we are the breath of life."

I agree with holdenh13 when he said "He is making a comparison of earthly things vs. spiritual things."
We can't let ourselves be driven by these things. We are here to bring life and heal this world.

PS: Sorry for my bad english =)

Underoath – Who Will Guard the Guardians? Lyrics 15 years ago
I agree with you guys but I think the meaning could be something else too.

I might saying nonsense but this song reminds me of Matrix. Lol. It's like someone from Zion is telling how they let machines take control of their lives. The machines were meant to serve us but they end up owning our lives and hunt us down. The people has to hide as long as they can from the machines but they know that the war between them is inevitable.

"I swear we cannot wake up from this Hell that we live in
But when the sun finally hits our face
We see that were were only reflections of reflections left by our predecessors
Dragged through the mud
Chained by the ankle
There is no more running, there is no more escaping
If only God could lay His hands down on this barren land and wake us up
Cause we are the lost, we are the helpless, we are the forgotten ones"

This part he thinks about the whole situation and everything the people has gone through, then he find himself hopeless. Only God could save them.

"I swear its worth saving us
We pray for the sun to dry us up
I need a clearer head to see what we are worth
There's still life down here left to revolt
Oh I know what it looks like from there
A loss of control to this place and we're set to extinct"

So he is prays to God and ask Him to help and save them.

So... It makes any sense or I'm just tripin'?

P.S: Sorry about my english =)
