Why are people arguing over wether it's 'dumb' or 'done'?? ....it's DUMB. Listen to it with headphones + it makes much more sense once you actually know what the song is actually about. He is singing about his brother, Matt. who is obviously a very vulnerable, shy, anxiety filled young teenager, who is struggling to find his place in the word because he can't stand up for himself. I know it sucks that daddy's dumb But try to think of what you want His father is against him wanting to achieve his goals, or disagrees with something he want's do, he shouldn't listen to him because it is his life. Open up your, open up your Open up your throat He needs to speak up, let his voice be heard. There's a lot more obvious references to this, but I can't be bothered explaining them. |

i can't believe nobody has interpreted this song correctly yet. The song is not about a girlfriend, it's about his relationship with God. 'And there's no eye-to-eye. just Moses on the mount' This is a clear reference to when Moses was talking to Him on the mountain, but instead it is just Moses by himself. Furthermore, 'When every joke I make is treason' This highlights, how everything he does is a 'betrayal' to Him The chorus, obviously concerns how he wants to prove that he is loyal to God. The opening line 'I lost my membership card to the human race' is how he thinks God has banned him from the world. |
