well no ones commented here in a while, but from all the arguments whether he believes in god or not it doesnt matter. To me this song and the use of singin it too god only makes for an extremely good device, keep in mind hes questioning god, makes for powerful imagery. I think what heppened to him shook him so much that this song kind of represents how desperate he was so he looked to god and questioned how could he let something so horrible happen. So its kinda like "i dont know if your out there god but if you are......what the hells your problem man?" for lack of better words. Also on the album he mention loosing his innocence a lot, i think this is another example of that, a man questioning god and completely void of faith is an extremely powerful image for the tragedy of this concept album even the music makes it sound like a broken man singing to the sky in a desperate attempt for answers........this song gives me chills, i love it. |

im not trying to start a flame war here or one of those endless religion/beliefs arguments, but please do some more research on Agnosticism before you make claims about it. i agree that putting names to such things is stupid and that you either believe in a higher power or not, but in a sense its necesary, spiritual agnostics dont want to be associated with christians for example. Unfortunately its human nature to make every thought that pops into our heads into an "ism". Agnostics are sure why they believe in there claims they just classify the existance of god and the afterlife as unknowable. |
