I was looking at the varied comments on this song.. This song means so much to so many people! And so many totally different things. I think some people, when they commented were actually "fishing". Meaning........ They were TRYING to figure out what the meaning of the song is. That is normal. Maybe we are all wrong and maybe we all are just guessing and we have no clue. I am not saying I am "right". Someone said before that Coldplay is gay... I don't CARE if Coldplay is gay! Or if they are straight. Or if they are "evil". Or if they are "good". Or if they make mistakes or if they are just trying to have fun or if they are hoping to make pretty music. I'm so over it. So, so over it. I don't give a fo#k. I'll always love them. Adios. |

I agree that he is trying to "shake someone awake", as someone mentioned above me here. I could belt this one out to someone I love, too! And ask "What are you DOIN' to me?" To me he is saying who in the hell are YOU in your life, in your love, in your situation...! "I'm going to lay right into you..." He thinks his love deserves better. But really, who knows what really goes on in other's lives? It's all folked up man. COMPLETELY! Some people just do as their told. They get bossed around by their partner. They become the "Whipping Bitch". Sounds FUN! I've always LOVED the White Stripes! Yeah! This song rocks. |

This song HAPPENED to me! I was in love with a man, entered into a "marriage" of sorts, kept birthing "babies: of hopes, dreams and possibilities. I was finally killed with the last one. This song was written for me. And at long last he is FREE! I love this song. I just saw them play it in real life and they fucking ROCKED. Little did I know they were foreshadowing MY LIFE! |
