Reverend And The Makers – Open Your Window Lyrics 16 years ago

It's about being forced into a long distance relationship by university. The bloke gradually feels like he doesn't know her as she grows in character with her friends. He's worried about her being away and begins to think that she's lying to him and he doesn't like her friends because he feels that they're taking her away from him. In the back of his mind he knows he should let her go and meet new people, but he can't live without her and let her be free.

I'll be off to uni next year and I'm in a relationship atm. =/

Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip – The Magician's Assistant Lyrics 16 years ago

This is how selfish suicide is. Note the excessive use of 'you' and 'your' etc. I like how he then purposely emphasises and expresses every case in a way that parodys the idea.

Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip – A Letter From God to Man Lyrics 16 years ago

"Religion became a tool, for the weak to control the strong;
With all these new morals and ethics, survival of the fittest was gone.
No longer could the biggest man simply take whatever he needed,
cos damnation was the price if certain rules were not heeded"

The whole truth about religion. Religion was the end of true Darwinism.
Although we wouldn't be nearly as intelligent as we are now if religion wasn't created for use in this way, it's about time everyone still believing in religion moved on.
I love the idea that religions were created by people that knew it wasn't true themselves. It's a shame the knowledge wasn't passed on so that the pope or someone could just announce it one day.

Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip – Angles Lyrics 16 years ago

It's more about how the people you know affect your angle on life. There are four different sides of the story; The Guard (Paul), The Guard's Boss (Keith), The Child (Billy) and Mark.
Paul sees his Boss as a hero and a role model, but sees Mark as a "lowlife psycho", only because he did not know the reason for Mark's actions against the person he looks up to.
Keith sees himself as an authority figure who is well respected and means to do well by teaching proper discipline. However, not knowing of Billy's circumstances, he nicks him the same as he would any other child, presuming that Billy is just another criminal.
Billy just accepts what's given to him from his father and then from Keith, as he also accepts the responsibility for his mothers death, which is why he forgives his father for beating him. He decides not to live after accepting all blame.
Mark lives only for what's to come, and to give his family a good life, especially his little brother, and there isn't anything more important to him. When he finds out that this has been taken from him, he seeks revenge. To him, Keith is a murderer and nothing more.

So the different angles, which are made by who they care for and look up to, change the way they react to the others in the situation.

In summary, I think the main contrast is between Keith and Mark.

From Paul's angle it is Mark who is a murderer and Keith who has been taken from him.
From Mark's angle it is Keith who is a murderer and Billy who has been taken from him.
