| 30 Seconds to Mars – A Modern Myth Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"Did we create a modern myth Did we imagine half of it." -It's as if two people believe that they both became completely oblivious to the world around them and now realize that everything isn't what it really is. "What happened then, a thought for now" -Referring to an event that happened in the past. "Save yourself. save yourself." -Get out of it, you can still continue on like nothing happened, it's too late for me. "A secret is out" |

| The singer seems to be asking someone if they'll be there for her/him in times of trouble. | |
| Within Temptation – World of Make Believe Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"She decides, she creates It's her reality." It almost sounds as if the girl in the song is trying to escape from the world around her, and to protect herself, creates her own fantasy. |

This is just my opinion/interpretation of the song. It sounds like an experience between two people. In my opinion it doesn't necessarily have to be between two people that like/love each other, it could be between two close friends or maybe a person trying to simply understand another. The first person tries to take apart the other person layer by layer: "You've stripped me down, the layers fall like rain." In doing so, "You watched me while I slowly disappeared I reached for you to save me; you were frozen in your fear." Maybe the first person discovered something shocking about the other; they simply watched as the other disappeared because they didn't know what to do or what to say: "frozen in your fear." However, both people have issues they are struggling to deal with. It's kind of like throughout the song/lyrics, they try to understand and try to 'fix' eachother. The first person tried to find out what the other is hiding inside- why they won't show what they feel to the outside world. ""I reached inside your silence to steal what you won't show." They thought they had some sort of idea, but didn't want to trust their assumptions, or simply didn't want to believe what they thought- "I tried to find the answers in my fears" However, whatever they uncovered from the person keeps on slipping out of their grasp whenever they come close to finding something.- "But what was found is lost again as soon as it appeared." The second person is asking the other to "Take it all away", to somehow make everything better and solve the current problem, even though they reveal nothing and don't want to give away anything about themselves. "I'm breaking; I can't do this on my own"- These two people are obviously both struggling with their lives. At least one of them feels that they're entering a mental breakdown, and feels that they are unable to carry on without help. "Can you hear me screaming out, am I all alone?" It's almost like a contradiction- The person wants someone to help them, but at the same time doesn't want to give anything away about them to anyone else. They want help, but they don't want help- they don't want anyone to come to close. Again, this is only my take on it. Kind of doesn't make that much sense *reads over* |

| Placebo – Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this song involves two people, with one of them losing their life. The person the person who is 'narrating' the song cares a lot about the other. The person still alive may have wanted to somehow switch places with the other person that lost their life, preventing them from dying-"Let me steal this moment from you now." and "And if I only could, Make a deal with God, And get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be running up that hill, Be running up that building." |

There are plenty of interpretations, this is just what I think of this amazing song. "Tell myself on the ride home, getting tired of hating all I've known," This line kind of seems to mean that the person has been going through tough times a lot, and holding on to things that end up badly, no matter how much the person hopes for. "I wanted to see something that's different, something you said would change in me," It's almost like someone promised this person that things were going to get better, and didn't really improve. This person has been holding out, trusting the other, but nothing's really happening. "Im taking a chance, this could be different, this could be all I'm waiting for, taking a chance, this could be different, this could be all I'm waiting for..." This could be referring to a relationship. Maybe the person has gone through relationships that didn't go well, and they're hoping that this one is going to last and be something different than what they've gone through. |
