that's really interesting, because the people who believe in the reptiles always say this is the turning point. this is where they win and we lose, unless we shake shit up. |

it COULD be about a circus, if you mean the world is a stage, and the reptiles are the ring masters.
Because this is about a reptilian race/government that is in current control of our world and possibly thoughts/feelings/actions. Whether you believe it or not, that's what these lyrics mean. If you take this context and run with it throughout the whole album, the lyrics almost seem to be recruiting you, "wake up, this is what's going down, these are the lies, now get out there and live."

no, guys. It's hour. It doesn't have anything to do with the references to the volume, it has to do with the previous line, "if you're scared of the FUTURE tonight", we'll break down Time and take it one HOUR at a time.
That said, I like "album" a lot more :) |

i am actually in disbelief that Dave Grohl wrote this. It is mediocre at best, with a distinct Shania Twain twang, not to mention the ridiculous excuse of a chorus. |

I don't believe it's the loss of a specific girlfriend that's feeding his emotion, but rather the jaded resolution that we're all covering up our scars only to do the same thing over again. There just seems to be a more fatalistic and hopeless reasoning to everything. "You, you're just my next mistake/like me to you" and "god forgive your unborn sons/i hope they dont end up like me" are good examples, not to mention great lyrics. |

There is nothing negative OR positive in these lyrics. The song is simply stating that everything is relative. No matter how far down the rabbit hole one allows themselves to venture, the light at the end is always that of the moon, eclipsing all preconceived notions, resulting in a pitch black nothingness that welcomes only the repetition of the thought pattern just traveled.
This song, not unlike life, is beautiful and meaningless at the same time. |

I think this song is being sung to a friend that's having just as hard of a time as the singer with life and its consequences. As he addresses both death and relationships, i think the song is a general reflection on their lives, and appreciation for having gotten through some rough patches. |
