seems to me its about depression and ends with a suicide. laika is a reference to losing a son to mental illness (ie in space), bit by a vampire is a reference to his state of mind, tears in a cup is... is referencing the frustration at his lack of improvement, disco lights... no body cares until its too late. its all been said before, but this song really hit me that first time i heard it years ago. |

| At this point he doesn't know his purpose in the world as everything seems to be at odds, yet now that hes successful, its as if his parents have suddenly found purpose (last line?) . Its a view of the world common in youths and those with too much time to think: life is a paradox, why bother? maybe the last line even reflects his regret at having been born. | |
