You are an idiot. How would you feel if you wrote a song without a "right answer" or "definite meaning"? Like a dumbass? I would. Truth is... you're wrong. Unless you're Jack Johnson or someone of the likes, you usually REALLY MEANT SOMETHING IN YOUR SONG, and this is what the site is intended for --> Discovering the artist's motivation behind their lyrics. PLEASE... Do not bore everyone with what you "THINK" sounds like a possible explanation, but, if you "must," try to be just a little more succinct in your discourse...PLEASE. Thanks. |

Thank GOD someone understands the importance of how every lyric in EACH VERSE and CHORUS hold significance for a well-rounded song composition! Everyone else, PLEASE!... Understand that the story told by a song is NOT DELIVERED IN THE OVERALL FEELING THE LYRICS GIVE YOU, rather it is in the metaphors (Metaphors able to be interpreted that is. Guys like Jack Johnson embarrass themselves with abstract nothingness - trying to look deep by erroneously using "metaphors") and the literal meanings of the words themselves (EVERY word). Also, the refrain at the end of the song where "that's how it happened living life by the drop" is repeated, is a strong indication that the story indeed does not hold a happy ending like many of you have mistakenly assumed. |

I really don't think this song is about Kim... There's another song on the album that is "definitely" Kim-oriented, but I think this has to do with a "new found" relationship he has recently experienced. Especially since a large part of the lyrics reference some of the feelings you get when you first start to date or share a romantic interest with someone... So I'm just really thinking that this song has NOTHING to do with Kim! There's a line in this song: "after a year and six months" ... I really don't think a "year and six months" would hold too much significance to the song if the woman in reference was Kim.. seeing that they have been on agian off again so many times that keeping up with how long "this time" lasted would be redundant. C'mon guys... think outside the box and listen to the words. Think beyond the first and obvious answer. Anyone have any ideas about who this mysterious love interst of Eminem's is that he's referencing in the song??? |

| Ryan Bingham – Southside of Heaven Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Ryan Bingham. Damn, what a musician. Great Song! But, this is how I would interpret this song: Ryan used to travel around New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma, playing "dive-bars" and entering into bull ridings calling his van "home," and even being homeless at times for several years. I kind of feel like this song is his way of pleading for a place of peace. A place to live, prosper, and be happy. So he's asking God to show him his home on the south side of heaven, because he's tired of trying to find it... And he even really doesn't mind if it's luxurious or not, just looking for "his place," and maybe that place IS "where the poor man lives"... Ryan sees no monetary value in happiness. I think this seems to be an accurate picture of what the lyrics communicate since most of the lines corroborate that theory, but this is a great song open to all kinds of interpretations and it could be seen differently by each individual person. Though, I kinda feel that this is what Ryan was trying to say here. |

| Ryan Adams – Come Pick Me Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Ha, you seriously need to "actually" listen ... you hear the music but not the "song". The song is a "bluesy" melancholic ballad. Definitely not something you dance to at a wedding. | |
