Neko Case – Magpie To The Morning Lyrics 16 years ago
I love the reference to the mockingbird singing to comfort the person who is afraid of the dark. That really strikes me hard for some reason. I guess it's just something comforting in a world where everything is so unpredictable.

The fading summer line seems most significant to me as well. Spring and Summer are my favorite times of the year, so that line probably just reminds me of the happiness and carefree feelings associated with those seasons. Could morning's teeth have something to do with the sun? The sky is what gets lit up in the morning (obviously), by the sun of course, so it makes sense to me.

I don't know. This song is really intense for me to listen to...brings out a lot of emotions.

Neko Case – Middle Cyclone Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is haunting. Easily one of my top 5 Neko songs.

Reminds me of a friend I used to have. She was always trying to act tough and constantly putting up an emotional wall. In reality, she wanted to be loved, but didn't know how to show it or want to admit it.

"Baby why am I worried now? Did someone make a fool of me, before I could show 'em how it's done."
This reminds of, how as people, we constantly feel as though we are making fools of or embarrassing ourselves. We'd much rather beat other people to it, and do the criticizing. For some reason, we feel like criticizing ourselves hurts less than having others do it.

Neko Case – At Last Lyrics 16 years ago
"I own every bell that tolls me" is my favorite lyric from a Neko song. The way I understand it (aka opinion), this is a very definitive statement about being in control of your fate. Like someone mentioned, bells could be a metaphor for death, so if interpreted this way, it's like saying, "Hey Death, your bells may be ringing, but I'm in control of my my life and my fate!"

Rilo Kiley – Accidntel Deth Lyrics 16 years ago
It's called "Accidntel Deth" because there is no such thing as an "accidental death". When someone dies, it was just their time to go, hence it not being accidental. Of course, that also hints at the possible existence of a higher power or some kind of fate.

The Kills – Magazine Lyrics 16 years ago
No comments yet? Wow.
This song is really, really good. I love how ironic and sarcastic the lyrics are. It's great to know that not all musicians take themselves too seriously. I especially like the line, "I'm cooler now, I've got the look" since Alison is well known for her style.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Hysteric Lyrics 16 years ago
I used to skip this song all of the time, too, but when I finally listened to it, it became my favorite on the album, especially the acoustic version.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Dragon Queen Lyrics 16 years ago
Yeah, I think it's about heroin. Chasing the dragon usually refers to smoking opium, but since the chorus talks about a scar, I would assume that refers to injecting heroin.

Badass song.
