Coincidentally, I thought this song was about zombies. The last lines also match this too. "Night fall again Taking what's left of me Slight twist, shivering corpse Ornated with water, fills the cracks Clasped in my limbs by tradition This is all you need " It becomes nighttime, when zombies are more "active". A zombie bites him as it's "taking whats left of" him. The shivering corpse is the narrator turning into a zombie. "Clasps in my limbs by tradition" The narrator is probably describing a gun that has been using for a long time, and he was probably using it to defend himself and his group of survivors from the zombies. "This is all you need" could be him telling someone to kill him with his own gun before he spreads the infection. |

For some reason, this album makes me think of an advanced form of humans that depend on their technology for everything. Then, an alien race (possibly a Jester Race?) comes to Earth because their planet is dying (which connects The Jester Race and Whoracle). But, they too are dependent on their technology. There is a war where technology eventually breaks down, so they morph into primal mode. Then, they both use all they can to take the land which leads to them killing themselves. Possibly Colony connects also. There's plenty of songs about rebuilding civilization. So, there's a possibility that some (unnamed) characters have survived and continued in a post-apocalyptic world. And, what about the song Swim? Could that be connected too? |

Just to organize the lyrics... BTW does anyone have lyrics for the growl part? It sounds like he's repeating the verses again. Long evenings full of longing Low-spirited my mornings Full of longing too my nights And all times the bitterest. Tis my lovley I long for It is my darling I miss My black-browed one I grieve for. Beneath the grass my treasure Under the sand my sweet one There's no hearing my treasure No seeing my marten-breast No hearing her in the lane Driving below the window Chopping the wood by the stack Clinking outside the cook-house: In the earth my berry lies Beneath the grass my treasure Under the sand my sweet one In the soil she's mouldering Under the sand my sweet one Beneath the grass my treasure The one I grieve for. |
