To me this song must have been based on the TV series Supernatural...this will only make sense if you've seen till the end of season 2 'Couldn't save you from the start Love you so it hurts my soul can you forgive me for trying again Your silence makes me hold my breath Oh, time has passed you by' Sam Winchester has died and his brother Dean realises he never could have saved him from Azazel's plans. 'I know it was destined to go wrong You were looking for the great escape To chase your demons way' They were destined to lose this battle, there was never a chance of saving Sam, who was looking for the great escape in trying to beat the darkness within himself, the darkness of his demon blood. Also flashback to season 1 where Sam ran away from life as a hunter, escaping, because he wanted a normal life away from the demons and everything. 'I've been so lost since you've gone Why not me before you? Why did fate deceive me?' Dean would have wanted to die before Sam since he always protected his little brother, no matter what. Now he can't deal with the world any more without his brother. 'Everything turned out so wrong Why did you leave me silence?' Again, it speaks for itself. how could Sam just die and leave Dean? the last chorus could just repeat or it could be afterwards, after Dean sold his soul for Sam's life, Sam thinking about Dean making the deal for him, thinking he'd given up and desperate to save him. this is the best meaning i've come up with, it seems to fit absolutely perfectly and i mean this in a non-slash way |

this is one of their ultimate best songs i think it's about two friends who actually are caught up in some huge apocalyptic war...one of them has some kind of special power or significance but refuses to use it to help 'dead star shine light up the sky i'm all out of breath my walls are closing in' this part makes me think of a big nuclear cataclysm or something that they're trapped close to and can't escape 'days go by give me a sign' one thinks the one with the power can save them but they're scared or unwilling despite all that they're enduring 'come back to the end the shepherd of the damned' he pleads for his friend's help in saving himself and the world 'i can feel you falling away' he knows they're scared and wants to help-later, also feels like they're abandoning him 'no longer the lost, no longer the same' they've been changed forever, hardened by the war 'i can feel you starting to break i'll keep you alive if you show me the way' they need each other to get through 'forever and ever the scars will remain' there will never be a true end, they will never forget the horrors of their lives 'i'm falling apart leave me here forever in the dark' he has lost hope and faith in his friend when they continue to refuse to help for whatever reason and he's breaking up 'daylight dies, blackout the skies' again, the apocalypse progressing 'does anyone care, is anybody there?" he's alone without his friend and hopeless 'take this life, empty inside' he tries to save the world himself since he no longer cares but he fails 'i'm already dead i'll rise to fall again' (Best lines!) he has given everything in this struggle and failed, but yet he carries on 'God help me i've come undone out of the light of the sun' calling out to God for help of course, desperation when everything seems so dark 'give me a sign there's something buried in the words' he comes back to his friend the one with the power and pleads again for them to help 'give me a sign your tears are adding to the floods' they're crying, begging him to leave them alone but he's saying, we need you. the floods can also represent the apocalypse i guess. his final hope for them to save the world, oto give him hope and a reason to go on ok so maybe breaking benjamin didn't write the song about that but it's what it means to me it probably just means two people dealing with suicide or drugs or something and trying to help each other out i also thought of one of them dying and the other not knowing hat to do without them cos i connect it to without you as well |

i think it's about a man who was part of some secret organisation and his enemies got to his family and killed them, so he went after them in revenge. but after he killed them he can't believe it was the best thing to do and he feels like it was all for nothing and he's lost himself in the fight for nothing. when he says strength of the world it's like feeling he's doing the world a favour by getting rid of the killers but also that he feels he has the strength to go on forever for his revenge this song is like an epic movie on it's own! |

i actually am a christian dont tell me i don't know what im saying i still don't think this paticular song is about God i admit it could be but i dont think so i think its pretty simply about a guy who's actually in a coma and yet he can feel someone he loves, maybe a brother or a girlfriend, being near him and willing him to wake up then second verse he has woken up and finds that this person looks like theyve betrayed him and hes not sure if it true but cant properly forgive them even though he loves them this makes me think it's probably a girlfriend who went out with someone else or something 'bringing life' is a return to when he woke up i think the one he loves found the only way to wake him when everyone else had given up on him it could be about God but i don't really think so |

i think it could actually be about jesus being resurrected since they are a christian band or not otherwise just feeling like life is terrible and there's no dawn, completely destroyed by pain or something. heres the story i put with it a guy has made a great sacrifice and is now undergoing a painful transformation into some kind of superhuman creature but the process is very long and painful and he doesn't know if he'll survive it and fight on-fantasy epic 'i lie here paralytic inside this soul' he's trapped inside himself defenceless against the forces trying to destroy who he is 'screaming for you till my throat is numb' calling out for God or just someone he lives doest matter, for help 'i gotta break out, i need a way out, i don't believe that it's gotta be this way' he can't take it any more, he's sure there was another way of saving whoever he sacrificed himself for and nothing was worth this it's like the hero's denial stage 'the worst is the waiting in this womb im suffocating' he thinks the transformation is going to kill him 'feel your presence filling up my lungs with oxygen i take you in' someones reaching out to him and helping him survive the ordeal 'i've died' hes remembering the moment of his sacrifice 'rebirthing now' hes alive again! | I just have this vision of a guy standing high on a cliff and the lightning is literally 'all around him', kind of energising him, as if he's one with it. it creates really intense images for me... and there's a girl, maybe his love, who misunderstands that he's trying to save the world and thinks he's betrayed her somehow( and your voice was all I heard that I get what I deserve), and even while the apocalypse is being reversed his life with her is falling apart, and the new divide is both a metaphor for the rift in their relationship and literally a manifestation of the apocalypse. the 'floods' have a similar double meaning and of course there's the 'fate' thing which brings to mind all those stories of chosen heroes saving the world? there' something at least about how the devastation mentioned is both real and physical, as well as being internal, a state of mind. | |
