to me this song is kind of about dysfunctional families and how children, before being influenced by the outside world, are still innocent, commanding, sweet, and curious about people. I don't mean to say just young children but also teenagers, especially the line "as we lay and learn what each-other's bodies were for" which I don't find disturbing but just honest. |

The impression I got from the song was that it's about humanity and how humans have such basic and barbaric instincts, in this song specifically sexual, and the need to create life, but then pretend to be so civilized and look back on their memories with such fond remembrance, trying to find beauty in some of their most animalistic acts. |

To me this song is about drugs and how they literally "take the farm" out from under your knees, how people who use drugs "chop down treetops" and "dig for diamonds at the bottom of the sea" where they will find no real meaning. This song, to me, is about the counterproductive nature of drugs and the people that use them, the way they're searching for something by using something that will never lead them to what they're looking for. |

That makes sense to me! Exactly what I think when I listen to it.
I've also thought maybe it could be about the careless feeling of being in love or the kind of silly shine that comes to someone's eyes when they're in love or just really happy almost like their in another universe, hence.. "Everything is beautiful here." |
