| The Tallest Man on Earth – The Wild Hunt Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Somehow, the lines "I left my heart to the wild hunt a-comin I live until the call And I plan to be forgotten when I'm gone Yes I'll be leavin' in the fall" remind me of the movie "Into the Wild". |

Heard this in Scrubs, where (as usual with Scrubs) it summed up the emotions of the characters and the events of the episode perfectly. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful with Arthur's voice. Even though I usually get all twitchy when I hear songs which mention religion and God-stuff, I find the line "May God's love be with you. Always." stunning in this song - when sung in this way, the words for me simply contain som sort of universality that makes the religious-ness irrelevant. I don't know how else to put it. :-) |

To me, this song is simply about existing, about being present. Their history, their personalities, their future plans - screw all those things, they're details. What gives the situation value is that they're both completely there, which I believe to be true in any situation in life. Also, the singer expresses a wish that other people might be able to experience this state of mind ("If only they could see; if only they had been here"), which I think is rather neat. |

| Kings of Convenience – Winning a Battle, Losing the War Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Truly beautiful. The guitar playing is perfect and simplistic, yet manages to create different moods or sections through the song, each corresponding with the lyrics. The words "The sun sets on the war, the day breaks and everything is new." are given perfect meaning by the beautiful, soft and pure voices that KoC have. The first time I heard the song and the concluding line was sung, it simply resonated deep inside my mind and soul in a way that somehow made perfect sense. And I guess that's pretty much the only real way to judge whether music is truly good. |
