this song is pretty much speaks for itself. it's the witch hunt, you were different, you stood out so you must be the witch and the cause of the towns problems. the song also talks about not only the idea of the witch hunt but the "haunt you till you die" aspect which is like the karma side of things. wether you decide to look at it from a complete witch hunt view or maybe a modern message that people today are still going to be persecuted for being different either way it's the same type of meaning. if you stand out, you're going to get some flack, but it doesn't mean you cant fight back! |

okay, first up, i would like to say that this song is done by BOTH Pezz and Billy Talent (which for you who do not know, are the same band). Pezz originally made this song and then Billy Talent re-produced it and put it on the Try Honesty EP which much better sound quality. this song, as far as i am concerned is about a break up. it's pretty easy to read into to. he's saying that he fell for her, pretty darn hard and only now he is realising she is not anywhere close to what he once thought and that she's basically screwed him over. the end lines where he says "My memory lain is now paved There's nothing wrong But now my memory's back and there's nothing wrong There's nothing wrong There's nothing wrong" is kind of like him saying, i am over it or i am getting over it. thats my thoughts :D |

This song is about a guy who desperately wants a second chance with his girl but like the wildslothian said, she's not having any of it. It also metions that hes a bit insercure and weak and maybe she has a certain amount of control over him around a bit but he's still madly in love with her. Drink and Fight you sound about right, when Billy Talent were writing III they listened to lots of Soundgarden, Nirvana and bands like that. I reckon this is album is their best. Devil on my Shoulder sounds so much like a Soundgarden song. Download some of that, you will see what I mean. |

i like short stack in general.. but their lyrics.. dont really have specific meanings all the time? and if they do they're difficult to decode. i love this song, its very catchy. by the sounds of it "Bled dry,a bullet never lies Look into my eyes girl, would i lie to you? Stained grave, do you feel the same way? Tears run down my spine girl, would i lie to you?" and "Watch the world (it's a disaster) Let it bleed (forever after)" give me the impression that maybe this song is about a girl who has died and the guy has had a difficult previous relationship or if she hasn't physcially died their relationship has and he's really messed up. but thats how I see it. |
