| Forgive Durden – Cue the Sun Lyrics | 16 years ago |

In my opinion, in my completely non-religious opinion, yes God is narrating. In the beginning He's creating the world, and He is saying that "he'll get it right this time" implying that he did something wrong last time. Sort of like the story of Noah's Ark. (When God drowned all the people to start over from scratch). In the first verse and chorus, he's talking about how awesome the world is, and how he's proud of it. Then, the second verse about the boy is a metaphor for the human race, and how we don't think we are doing anything wrong, and we are figuring everything out, and trying to make it easier for us. I.e Gasoline powered cars, cutting down forests for paper, etc. But by doing all of this, we are basically shooting ourselves in the head. The last verse/chourus is talking about how much we have screwed up the world and polluted it and now God's pissed and he's going to have the sun drown us all (global warming). |
