When he says a drop in the ocean, a change in the weather, he's talking about things that are completely irrelevant and unimportant. Things that don't matter in the whole scheme of things. Like him loving her is irrelevant, because she'll never love him back: "It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert." But to him, it doesn't matter because , she is his heaven, his everything. The man is broken, and is having trouble letting go. and it makes it even worse that he is going away from her. I think when he says he was a boy who loved a woman like a little girl just means how he was in over his head, like the drop in the ocean thinking it was something more then just a drop. Or a slight change in the weather would change people's daily routines. Well overall it's a beautiful song. |
