I belive this song is about both the society and the economic situation in the US. And people tend to blame the coverment, but the same people are often to blame for the problem. This related to both how people behave and what leadership the poeple put to power.
The US, both the society, with and because of the economic "caos" there ahve been now over the last years, and how the goverment didn't try to turn the development earlier, is going down - and the situation have gone so far it's extremly hard, if not impossible, to change it fast. |

Regarding the line "in bed with rob and judas priest"; It seems "Rob" is a Spinal Tap reference, as Mike is quoted "used to be like a punk rock singer with fast songs, something I could get into, and then they pretty much turned into Spinal Tap" on Noise Creep. Rob Reiner directed and played in the Spinal Tap-movie. |
