| Fall Out Boy – 20 Dollar Nose Bleed Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Am I the only one who thinks this might be a Fight Club reference? "Who will I be when I wake up next to a stranger on a passenger plane? Permanent jetlag, please take me back..." Could be a reference to the beginning and the narrator's humdrum life and his existence from one airport to another. And, "Have you ever wanted to disappear and join a monastery" reminds me of the formation of Project Mayhem. "Don't let the doctor in, I wanna blow off steam..." If you've seen the film or read the book, you know. |

| Has anyone noticed that the "Dreaming/I was only dreaming" line is from Gloomy Sunday, that Hungarian suicide song? | |
| Green Day – Give Me Novacaine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Here's how it happened in my mind, which is probably wrong, but...well, hey. Give Me Novacaine is Whatsername's intro, rather than She's A Rebel. I imagine that Whatsername, being the revolutionary figure she is, has several enemies and was run out of either Chicago or Toronto by an angry mob. Severely hurt and gasping for sweet life, she runs into Jimmy/JoS, and begs him for relief from the pain, whether it be from drugs or just plain companionship. Later, in She's A Rebel, Jimmy/JoS finds out just what kind of fugitive he's harboring and is totally enthralled with her, while Whatsername sets up her new base of operation in Jimmy's town. But that's just my take. |

| Hmm...could this possibly mean that Christian is actually JoS/Jimmy? 'Cause Jimmy's death was JoS's private suicide...Jesus, how many personalities does Jesus have? | |
| Green Day – Horseshoes and Handgrenades Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I actually think that "The Static Age" represents Christian's death. The line "What's the latest way that a man can die screaming hallelujah" kind of made me make that connection. That and it comes right before 21 Guns, which is symbolic of Gloria's final salute to his memory. I think this song is more representative of Christian's last great stand before he dies in TSA. | |

I think this song is about a teenager trying to break away from overcontrolling parents with unreasonable expectations. Great song, Linkin Park is one if my favorite bands. |

| Emilie Autumn – Dead Is the New Alive Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| That really speaks to me, I didn't even think of that, and I used to be anorexic. It was really awful, just living for nothing but to be skinny and thinking it was pretty when really my ribs were showing and I looked really disgusting. I can't believe it's me when I look back at pics of myself from back then. This is one of my favorite songs and now it'll remind me of the struggle that I fortunately survived. | |
| Emilie Autumn – I Know Where You Sleep Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Somehow Lady Macbeth comes to mind when I listen to this. Perhaps it's all the symbolism with sleep that Shakespeare uses in that play. | |
| Emilie Autumn – Liar Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
When I hear the lines "I want to mix our blood/And put it in the ground/So you can never leave", it sounds to me like, in her obsession, she's willing to get pregnant with his child if it will keep them together. Just like that one crazy French chick did tried to do to the Marquis de Sade, only it didn't work like it did with her other lover. Her name escapes me at the moment...but I digress. Great song. Emilie is a wonderful, talented artist. |

| Emilie Autumn – What If Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| To me this song reminds me slightly of the little-known female Nazi Viktoria Gottschalk, or 'the Mercy of Auschwitz.' She was known for her kindness towards the prisoners and even slept with Mengele in exchange for sparing them from various cruel tortures. I think "Here you sit on your high-backed chair" is a reference to Hitler. The "kindest demon" line describes her pretty well, and "What if I'm a siren singing gentlemen to sleep" might reference the times she was forced to kill against her will as part of a firing squad. If this is what it's about, the lines "What if I'm a crowded desert/Too much pain with little pleasure/What if I'm the nicest place you never want to go" are also particularly striking. | |
