@ihavenoclue I appreciate your interpretation, so, building on some of what what you posted: Lyrics: 'I'll burn my eyes out Before I get out" Your Comment: -I'm unsure of this one. It could describe how badly he wants to die; that he'd rather "burn his eyes out" than "get out" of today and into tomorrow. "Get out" could be taken differently though. It could mean get out of life and this line could be taken as a resolve to go on with life, even though he doesn't want to. The latter makes sense cos that's what we know he did. My Comment: I'm thinking that "I'll burn my eyes out" may refer to him wanting to see/do all the crazy stuff that he can before he dies, or "gets out" Lyrics: "My belly stings" Your Comment: -This one addles me. A friend once told me it was about alcoholism, but I'm not sure Billy Corgan was an alcoholic. Someone above said they thought it was a bible reference. It wouldn't be the first for Corgan, and it fits in with the angel line. My Comment: I'm 90% sure that this is a reference to Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Egotism; or, The Bosom-Serpent". Maybe he's referring to how his sins/regrets/sorrows/whatever have become a constant presence in his mind. Lyrics: "I want to turn you on I want to turn you on I want to turn you on I want to turn you" Your Comment: -I agree with "dasuitekilla" here; I think this is unrelated. I hate to cheapen the song but maybe he is sexually frustrated. I s'pose that would make him feel worse. Or maybe he is beginning to miss the persona that he was trying to shed, maybe he wants to "turn it on" again. I know that doesn't really fit with the music but then none of this song's meaning does fit with the music. My Comment: Its a stretch, but I think he may be talking about wanting people to notice he killed himself, and feel some sort of reaction to it. I think the last line where he only says "I want to turn you" may be saying that if no one care's that he killed himself, he at least wants them to notice. Other than that I really have nothing to add. You pretty much hit the nail on the other lyrics. P.S. Hope you didn't mind me re-posting and commenting on your stuff. |

| Editors – Papillon Lyrics | 15 years ago |

"Make your escape, you're my own Papillon The world turns too fast, feel love before it done It kicks like a sleep twitch My Papillon, feel love when it's done" I fee like the "My papillon, feel love when it's done" part is actually something else. At first I though it was "in love with a shark" but then I realised that was silly. Buy still, it doesnt sound like hes saying "feel love when its's done" at the end of that part. |

| Serj Tankian – Cigaro Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Yeah Von is right, this is on the mezmerize album! Track 4 I think, though it couldnt have been as good if Serj diddnt sing it. Either way this is a great song, I have listened to it since I was like 12. I think that at the base this song is about America and out "Were better cause were america" attitude. Were like the new popular kid of the world, we think were the shit but we have no idea what were getting ourselfs into. Its like, America is the most powerfull country, but all our leaders are doing with the country is selling it out and stacking up dept, that tax paying citizens are going to have to pay. Some people just deny any sort of critisism of america because then they would have to admit they were wrong. Im pretty sure lyrics "Burning through the worlds reasources, then we turn and hide" are a direct reference to america and our oil crusades. Please keep in mind these are all my personal opinions, not fact. | |

| Ok, anyone who says this song isnt about LSD, I have one question for you. Have you ever taken LSD? And actually TRIPPED? If so, and you still miss the meaning of this song, then your a silly person who needs to learn more about drugs. | |

| Queen – Another One Bites The Dust Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Mabye its a message from the future like, in his day you couldnt walk around without guns in your face, and in the future you cant walk around without pot in your face. All self opionion though. | |
| Gorillaz – Starshine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I dont know about the whole song, but the last 2 lines kind of remind me of someone on heavy drugs (not pot)"jumping up, i'm low, low, low, low" Is like when you fell it, and you think that its going to make you happier, but then it goes away and your even sadder cause your dissapointed. "show me down" Is like when someone relises that they dont want to "jump up" or try to make themselfs happier in this situation, they just want out of it alltogether, im not say scuicide, but just a way to put all of his troubles behind him. Mabye just the last part of the song refers to drug use, as another example of a hope to get out of the depression. All this is just my opinion though. | |
