I think you're all right! :D Songs usually have multiple meanings and influences, which is great because it allows for many different people to enjoy it and make their own interpretations. I like pychobj2001's interpretation because it's very unlikely that that's what regina was thinking when she wrote it, but it fits perfectly and has a message that is certainly part of the song. |

I think this song is about one's connection with God and the fear of losing that faith. The part about people not reciting poems these days for the shame would be like how many people don't always want to talk publically about their religions because they fear critism. And she does not want to get to that point. Also, the "What if each to his own lonely grave" and then the "I don't want to live without you" is more of the fear that after death there is nothing else. But that's just my interpretation.. |
