I guess this is about an imaginary disaster where there was a trainwreck in Virgnia, one of the boxcars combusted, and somehow produced Hydrogen Dioxide, which i guess polluted the atmosphere and caused a "spotomatic freeze". Then, it moved to Atlanta and there was like acid hail and I guess, in the end, not even We Are Scientists could save us from the Freeze, so they were like ah, screw it, just send it to Alaska! They did, and that's why Alaska's so cold. NOT BECAUSE OF ITS PLACE ON THE EQUATOR!! jk. But, yeah, this song doesn't make scientific sense, buuut that's ok! xD |

I think the song is about a star, like the title says. However, just a star that We Are Scientists made up. There is no actual L23. Also,I think this song is referring to the narrators being astronauts or maybe, like less than 2% chance, this may be about aeronautics? |

I think this song is about Science bringing back Dinosaurs, and the experiment goes wrong, and now, Humans are at the bottom of the food chain and Dinosaurs are at the top. The scientists wanted to bring the Dinosaurs back because it'd be such an advancement, but it just didn't turn out to be harmless like they thought. "It's Natural Selection" refers to (in the simplest terms) the theory of Charles Darwin that evolution will take place by mutation of genes in order to make a species survive. Therefore, maybe Dinosaurs will overcome humans to be the surviving species and that's why the experiment should just stop? I don't know, maybe... |
