Awesome song, it is definitely my favourite. The meaning in this song I believe is about being true to yourself, being true to who you are. It is about making your own decisions in life, and not having others choose them for you. This is particularly evident in the last verse. ''is this the life that you lead'', is questioning the individual are they the ones really leading (making decisions) in their life, ''or the life thats lead for you'', are other influences affecting your life and decisions.

That sounds about right. A friend of mine is friends with stevie (person in this song). What you've said is correct, but interestingly enough, they're friends again (Lisa and Stevie that is).
