| The Smashing Pumpkins – Do You Close Your Eyes Lyrics | 15 years ago |

I feel that this song is about infidelity, realizations and the like. The intro chorus, “Do you close your eyes when you kiss me… etc” explains that the protagonist deeply questions a girl’s feelings for him. The first verse “Golden bells are ringing in the year/ through all the tears you cried for me/ I always knew you could.” is the writer realizing that there are some experiences that occurred during the relationship that made a beneficial impact on him when the significant other cried/cared for him in all his days of turmoil. The lines “So hide inside your looking-glass/ surprise, the lies become the truth you hide/ the lies become the lusty night.” point the finger at the offender of his emotions, saying that the truth about her loyalty will come out, despite the attempted trickery with “smoke and mirrors”. “Secrets cloud your ears and fill your nights/ with compromise and shadows torn/ as you make your way to him/ the moon becomes your silent confidant/ the one you want will stand alone/ the one you love is never known.” This is the last verse before the chorus closes the song. Here, the writer comes to the conclusion that his lover is cheating, being secretive and compromising the relationship’s exclusivity in secluded places that can only be seen by the face of the moon. He also conveys that she’s very indecisive, not knowing who has her heart. Bottom line: a really, REALLY sad song. |

| Lady GaGa – So Happy I Could Die Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This is song IS about narcissism. "I am as vain as I allow I do my hair, I gloss my eyes I touch myself all through the night" "I touch myself" means putting on make up and fixing her hair. |
