I originally thought it was about MMJ dispensaries getting raided in Calif. They did use blackwater mercs for a few raids. Dunno why they think tax-paying dispensaries would need guns to protect against the authorities...? Only one part of the song fits this theory though. Bury your treasure (bury the pot so cops don't find it) Burn your crops (obvious) Blackwater rising and it aint going to stop (blackwaters coming) So must be clutches internal story which I previously did not know about... |

My intepretation is that it is about cannabis. Some parts don't fit but some parts do. "you plant the seed you fill the need " - this parts obvious fill the need for.. weed "we give to take" - give life to the plant/earth to take it again at maturity "our eyes they burn sensing the feel feeling the real" - sound like he's feeling the effects of smoking it "burn to burn the seed we sow burn to flow into the sorrow burn to burn the seed we sow burn to grow into the sorrow" - sowing the seeds, burn to get into the flow, burning all this stuff so have to grow some more..? Not sure about the sorrow part? "I'm staring deep I'm staring bleak I search in vain Your flower gr(?)ows Your mother knows" - maybe he's high looking for his patch and can't find it. The flower (the part of the plant you smoke) grows (could be grows?). Your mother knows - fear of being caught? "as winter comes as time passes we forget the static in sound" - the plants die in winter if its cold, so supplies run low? "static in sound delusional" - delusional... been smoking. Static in sound might refer to the weird stuff you hear when high "our hands they learn" - learn to use, grow? I dunno maybe not... |
