Andrew Bird – Fake Palindromes Lyrics 15 years ago
I think it'd be silly to presume Andrew Bird is attempting feebly or otherwise to come off as profoundly savvy in the realms of circuitry or any other scientific field. He's a musician and a poet. And the strength I see in this song is precisely the varied language that he plays with. And in this particular song, the meaning of the words is less important than their sound - the consonance and the rhyming.

He liked the word, he used it in his poem. I just don't see what the problem is.

The Mountain Goats – 1 John 4:16 Lyrics 16 years ago
I think this song revolves around a prisoner narrator that's being executed on death row, praying to God.

The song begins with his last meal in the cell which he has built for himself metaphorically, in the sense that he's conscious that the decisions he took in his life are what lead him here.

He's being lead to do his death by guards, he is the beast that's being lead on the chain and trying to stay brave in the face of death and believe in the God has for him even as a sinner.

It's a beautiful song.
