It's definitely an allusion to the book, in the first chapter HH writes "lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins", which relates to TMTS's line "I got a fire". "bullets in my head" could relate to the fact that at the end of the novel Humbert Humbert shoots Lolita's other older lover in jealously, and Lolita always plays this whole dumb kid act, which is why she'd be all cute and "ask him why he came" The whole song contains loads of references to sentences in the book, like with really slight changes in words; his desire for Lolita is always described as a hunger. I guess that's why he writes about the "feeblest offers" too; the character of HH is always aware that he comes across as pathetic, practically buying Lo's services. This song is just the most perfect thing ever! |

It's "we're a heroic couplet of poetic feets" Which is an absolutely lovely line, it showes how they compliment each other perfectly and their rhythms are so in tune |
