Tuomas has many sustaining characters in his lyrics: The child, wanderer, poet, dead boy, (nemo), Ocean Soul. This song could be an example of The Child, or even The Dead Boy. In an interview with Toumas and Marco on Face Culture. The interviewer says: "Ghost love score...Redeem me into childhood, show me myself without the shell...are you looking for the pure innocence of the child?" Tuomas replies: "Well, yes. That seems to be one of the carrying messages in my lyrics.." My opinion is it can be taken a number of different ways. Yes, could take it as protecting childhood innocence, could take it as Self-sacrifice for someone you love (perhaps the child), Unrequitted love perhaps? Could even go right down to how this song is performed. Think about the chorus, its sung using a choir. Which could suggest that he's not the only one contending for the woman's (or the child's) heart. |

Short answer: this song is about renewal, perhaps at the whim of others. Like an intervention, Or a guys night out after a break-up. Quotes:"The stars they have whispered/Hear what they say/And know that it means" this is the words of others 'brainwashing' (not literally, but changing his mind) him. |

haven't read all the others, so this might have been said. could it be about a relationship ending due to an affair? from quote "Young love must/Live twice only for us" is the new beginning for them after the incident. "Time devours passion's beauty" that could be the reason for the affair, their love faded over time. Or maybe there was no affair and they are trying to prevent it from happening "In war for the love of you" this could mean she suspects he is being unfaithful. Tuomas is a genius. I'm probably wrong with this, but he is a god. |

| Marco's demo is better than Anette's. Love her to death, but nowhere near the amount of emotion as Marco, sometimes or even Tarja. NOT a Tarja fanboy, but Marco definitely does this song better. | |
