I think this holds it... obviously Sage Francis doesn't like drugs, he's a well known straight edger. I think it's a point of, from the perspective of someone who doesn't do drugs in a subculture (hip-hop) rife in drugs, I've seen what addictions do to people and how it ruins them. |

There's definitely a clear literal interpretation to this - Matt Berninger, every single live performance, goes through a hell of a lot of wine because otherwise he gets major stagefright, whereas the old vino makes him feel much more confident. |

I was just thinking that possibly there's a more morbid side to this song. The whole "last first kiss that you'll ever have" is a bit damning, the last EVER so leaving no opportunity to have another..
"Lying here beside me, palms and eyes open wide" Surely in a relaxed loving environment they wouldn't be wide open? He's obv shanked her.
"We end up hurting the worst, the only ones we really love." Obviously killing her would hurt her a bit.
"Is it over now hey, hey is it over now?" Obviously killing her wouldn't be easy, he'd want it to be over.
Okay I know how totally ridiculous and not right that is, but I'm just putting it out there, mixing it up a bit? ;) |
