Maybe Kurt was daddys little girl. Because maybe his father...or everything else kinda thought he was gay and acted like a girl....Im not saying he was gay, but from what i heard he was very opposed to be "anti-gay". And was even open to the idea. And maybe he did something that a "typical gay" (i dont mean all gays are the same at all. But some people seem to think that) and whatever he did...be it drugs, got in a big fight, etc.... made his father or whoever think he wasnt as gay as he came off to be. Thats just my thoughts ;) RIP Kurt. |

Thats a good interpretation. Not what i thought when i heard the song :P But i like your views, and opinions you stated. Not letting society define your personality because of your gender and sexual interpretation. I like to be like that, but sometimes its hard. Ima teenager, and you wanna be yourself, but at the same time you wanna have friends and dont want the world to hate you. My school always used to say "thats gay" whenever we heard of something we didnt like or agree with, I hated that, it drove me crazy. Im not gay....at least im pretty sure :P although sometimes people get the idea im gay, im kinda a feminist, and love peace. I guess im like a hippie kind of person. So some people think im gay, I dont care, they can go fuck themselves if they wanna judge people by what they see and rumors they here. Sometimes i act kinda gay, stand up for women, and im very non violent person. Real shy too :P so alot of people think i might be gay. But i also do alot of things that if people seen they would say "hes definatly not gay". Im just trying to say i like your way of thinking alot. Sorry for rambling but i dont have any real friends that i want to spill my guts to....like i used to..sooo. i figured the internet might be a great place. Thanks :) |

well, I did notice he really tries the what i like to call "Layne Staley Howl" lol if you know what i mean. Alice in Chains is my favorite band. I love godsmack. Everybody says they are just an Alice in Chains rip off/copy band. But i dont think they sound that alike. Except for this song, and and maybe a couple others. But other than that, i think they have pretty much different sounds. I guess its all about your perspective. and to Alice in Chains and Godsmack fans, always enjoy this music. Its waaaaay better then shitty pop music. There isnt alot of metal/hardrock/grunge fans out there, but there will alaways be the few(us) that will keep the genre alive. Peace.

After reading this, i think i have figured out the meaning. First off, i love this song. Favorite off Curb. I always thought the first verse was him talking to like a priest or whatever. Like in a church. But after reading it realized it was about his real father. He wants to know were bad men go when they die. because his mother said that his father wasn't going to heaven because he was a bad man. And that His mother and him were going to get wings to fly to heaven. Second verse i found pretty self explanatory. He is asking his brother(im not sure if he has one) or friend, if he uses these drugs (whatever they are) is he going to "die" or not go to heaven, like his father. so, his friend/brother says it wont hurt you. So he thinks "what the hell, its my life i acn do what i want with it". And uses the drugs. I think the chorus is him begging for forgiveness from god. I think the third verse is about how his father killed someone, and chad knows that. and his father is told to tell his son he didnt do it. (and father tell your son, its not your gun, and bloody hands) But Chad knows that his father actually did kill someone, and he is so angry at his father he could shoot him. (In dresser drawers those bullets wait to fly) Thats my thoughts on the song. Thanks, and always listen to Nickelback everybody ;) |

I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG!!! Yes, it is a simple song, but its really good.I don't drink much( because i am under age, it sucks)so i cant fully relate to this song. But, it kinda reminds me of when I'm in school. I sit around and waste my time. "I waste my time whenever i like". That's what i always wanted to say to the teachers.And also "just keep you shitty advice inside". I also like that because the teachers are always telling me i shouldn't waste me time and stupid shit like that. Yes, i know its about drinking, but im just saying that is how I relate to this song.It really reminds me of how im always saying the teachers dont have control over me, they think they can boss me around. Anyways, Kickass song and one of the best Metal bands today!!! ROCK ON GODSMACK!!! |

I think it is about a kid(based on the video) that seems like he cant do anything right for anybody. Bullies, teachers etc...he just cant seem to get anything right, but its not his fault. To me this song is about someone in a very pressured or stressful and maybe even abusive relationship and they are so caught up in trying to keep that relationship going and up they cant be themselves they are " falling away from themselves". The thing is, i have been in a pressured and stressful relationship. It really does feel like your falling away from yourself. Also the "beating me down into the ground" part. That also could symbolize a pressured and stressful relationship. Also in my relationship it felt like i was being " bet into the ground". Not sureif this is what the song really means but its what i think it means. And what a song means to me may be different from someone else because everybody lives different lives. |

I think this song is about a man being in a hospital. and the only way he is living (breathing) is my life support system in the hospital.He is begging god to give him one more chance to "breathe again on my own" and if he "lets him down" again he will accept that he will be "covered in darkness"(die). That's just the way i see it anyways. This is a beautiful song and a little change for disturbed and hopefully they create another song similar to this on there next album. |

i think this song is about a mother losing (death) her child. i think this because when it says

i think she is saying that it was wrong for Jesus to take her child form her.

it makes me think of the mother almost like begging for her child back even though she knows she cant and she is so hurt by it she cant mentally feel anything AKA numb |
